Peter Gustafson is a seasoned investor with a wealth of experience and a proven track record.
With a Master's in Finance from Copenhagen Business School, Peter began his career as a financial journalist at Denmark's leading newspaper, Berlingske.
He then worked as the Investor Relations Director for a leading Nordic insurance group and at the same time chaired the Danish Investor Relations Association.
Followingly, he was offered a position back at Berlingske, where he became the editor for the business section, overseeing critical corporate and financial coverage.
Drawing on valuable insights from discussions with prominent CEOs of leading companies, Peter founded and built his company, PROSPECT, from 1996 to 2009 into one of the leading Nordic consultancies in financial and strategic communications.
During those years, Peter advised more than 200 CEOs and Chairmen of listed companies in the Nordic region and global private equity funds, primarily on issues such as M&A activities, capital allocation, IPOs, friendly and hostile takeovers, crisis management, and investor relations.
Since 2009, Peter has been a successful full-time investor, focusing on owning ‘great businesses - run by excellent management’ for the long term.
Over the past 15 years, he has achieved an average annual return of 18% on his investments before costs, outperforming the S&P 500 Index by approximately 5 percentage points per year on average.
Every year Peter lectures in Warren Buffett’s hometown Omaha, Nebraska during the warm-up days to the annual meeting in Berkshire Hathaway. There, Peter teaches Buffett’s investment principles at ‘The Genius of Warren Buffett’ seminar where investors and executive managers gather from all over the world.
Peter has dedicated 2025 to writing his highly anticipated book on how to put it all together for stock investors.
